Iftari Szn!

One of my favorite parts of Ramadan is going out for iftar with friends and family. There’s just something special about coming together with other Muslims, being dressed up with some cultural drip and then you all break fast together. I recently got this lawn outfit a bit before Ramadan and was so excited to stunt in it. Check out the shoot.

Funny story, I hadn’t exactly tried on this fit before this iftari I had to go to last Saturday so when I put it on, the tailoring of the shalwar (the top piece) around my waist wasn’t perfect, I had to figure out what to do and came across my favorite fashion belt from Express. This belt in particular isn’t available anymore but here is a similar one from Express as well. You can see it better in this close up to the left. I had seen some women on Instagram wrap belts around their waists and put their dupattas in and used the inspo. Earrings I actually got from Target! I had bought them a few days prior just because I had been dying to have tassel/fringe drop earrings for the summer and then I realized they matched perfectly. Talk about accessorizing match made in heaven. You can click this link to check them out. The sandals are from Macy’s and they are my go to shoes in the summer. I absolutely love how this fit turned out. I felt like a Mogul queen in it. Reason being, ghararas were a staple in the old Mogul Empire’s fashion and I love the culture of it all so much. This shalwar kameez is from Sapphire! I love this brand because you can get stylish desi clothes that aren’t insanely expensive. And I love lawn outfits because they are so comfortable but so great for stuntin’. Dropping more pics below because I can.

Side note: I’ve recently started using an app called Huji Cam (shoutout to my girl @j.madeline_ for introducing me to it when we were in Paris together!) that you can use to take photos and they look like they were taken in the 90s with a disposable camera but better. Basically it adds a really cool effect to the photo based on lighting- real aesthetics. You can see Huji in action in 3 of the photos in the above gallery that aren’t outside. I’ve been so obsessed with the app lately.

I hope Ramadan is going well for all of you! Hard to believe that its already half over. I haven’t had a chance to add anything to the culture section of my blog so I’m excited about posting this (well if you’re reading this I have posted it but you know what I mean). Definitely going to try to post more for the culture because it is such a big and important part of my life. Don’t forget to subscribe below and follow me on social media to keep up with my posts! Much love to you all!
