Nice Is More Than Nice

Nice, France— I felt extremely lucky to have the chance to go to the south of France in the beautiful city of Nice. I only spent 3 days in Nice but legit it felt like paradise. Even though the weather read about 55 degrees Fahrenheit, the sun down there is so direct and hot, it felt perfect. The French Rivera is as amazing as everyone says it is. Just look at how beautiful below!

The French Riviera

I stayed right on the coast, on the Promenade des Anglais, at the Hotel Suisse which was pretty nice for the price. In the picture below, you can actually see the hotel right by the hill, the building with the pink/orange roof! It was a prime location and it was so easy to walk and see the rest of Nice. First and foremost, know that Nice really isn’t a place to do sightseeing but a place to enjoy the beach and relax. A super lively area to check out, however, is the Place Massena (pictured to the right). There is a lot of great shopping in the area and quick tip— bathing suit shopping in Nice is THE BEST, so take advantage of it! I’ve never felt more relaxed as I was when I was in Nice. In all honesty, all I have to say about Nice is that it is legit a paradise and I hope to spend summers there in the future. I highly recommend taking a cruise around the Riviera. It is so peaceful and so beautiful. Either you can do something short around Nice for an hour or so, or you can do a day trip to Monaco and other Southern French cities nearby!

Additionally, the location allows the city to be the perfect mix of France and Italy and thus the FOOD IS TO DIE FOR. You take the amazing cuisine of Italy and the great desserts of France and you have food heaven. Some of restaurants that I absolutely LOVED were:

  • Le Safari: Such a diverse menu, super close to the coast, has amazing seafood pasta
  • La Villa d’Este: A very Italian menu, great pasta, have the veal meatballs
  • Di Piu: Translates to “of more”, so make sure you go with a very empty stomach because the portions are HUGE but amazing wow.
  • Pôp-ô-thym: An amazing creperie, savory and sweet!
  • Le Rocher Moules frites: So many mussels and fries, enough said.

I never ate as well as I did in Nice. From having the best food to having the best time on the beach, Nice has it all. It was just this beautiful time and I will go back. The whole city was just blue and bright and I miss it.

Much love to you all, as always.
