I’ve always loved fashion and have always tried to have a style that was true to my personality. Dressing up is probably one of most prominent traits. Often times, I may slightly over dress for an occasion (oops), but in the end that makes me happy and a smile is the best thing for anyone to wear. While in NYC, people do tend to stunt more than back home on Long Island, that level is no where near the level of extra that is in Paris. A level that I am very familiar with myself. Everyone here is always stunting there best, which I love, so naturally for my orientation at Paris School of Business I let the Parisian style influence me with this look.

So firstly, a breakdown of this look. These jeans are my absolute favorite pair of jeans that I own. They are high waisted and from ASOS. I ordered them online and could not believe how amazingly they fit. I’ve had them for awhile now, so I’m not sure if you can buy these specific ones anymore but there are still tons of jeans like them available on their site. ASOS is amazing and if you haven’t checked it out before, you’re missing out. Also, another staple for me is bodysuits and this one I found somewhere where I never would’ve expected it (which is why whenever you’re out, keep a look out for cute clothes and that is my mantra). I was helping my mom buy clothes for my little sister at Gap and literally just saw a few plain white bodysuits on a rack for $11!! A good staple piece can totally make an outfit so I was very happy to find this. Lastly, the boots are from DSW and really comfortable.

Now, probably the part of this look that was most influenced by Parisian style was my necktie. I bought the necktie a few months from Tory Burch but wasn’t sure when to wear it and didn’t have the confidence to pull it off. Being in Paris, I decided this was my time to stunt, so I did. I wanted to make an impression at orientation and I felt really good when people commented on it. While this isn’t a total glam outfit, I felt amazing in it. Sometimes when the simplest things come together, it’s pretty amazing.

Experimenting with different looks is something I love to do and Paris is teaching me to always be true to my style but also be true to myself. As the great Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening” and that is something that is true to me. I want to live my life in a way that makes me happy and then dress everyday like I’m going on the runaway. But hey that doesn’t have to be you! You’re personality might be more street style, or you may prefer to be more laid back. Anyone can be fashionable but its up to you to have real style. There is no concrete definition to real style, as long as it is your own, it’s real. Well, here’s to one outfit segment of many— much love to you all.
